Release date
Rockstar announced on Nov 6, 2025 that Grand Theft Auto VI would launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, saying the extra time was for polish. Rockstar hasn’t published a global unlock time yet. We’ll add it when it’s official.
Platforms
PS5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation’s own FAQ says it won’t be playable on PS4. A PC version hasn’t been announced.

Price and editions
- Standard: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99, with extra vehicles, weapons, outfits and in-game content tied to Jason and Lucia’s story.
Any pre-order or purchase made before Nov 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+.
Pre-load and physical copies
Take-Two says digital pre-orders can start pre-loading on Nov 12, 2026. The physical edition goes on sale the same day. It contains a download code, not the game on a disc, so you’ll need to download it either way. Rockstar hasn’t shared the file size yet. Our storage prep guide shows how to make room now.
Setting and characters
The trailers show the return of Vice City inside the state of Leonida, with two leads, Lucia and Jason. Vice City is based on Miami, which is why the photos on this page are of the real city.

Get your setup ready
